People impatient to get started with being able to use Oriya under Linux can
skip most of the background material on fonts, etc. You will need to read (a)
Sec. 3.3 and Sec. 3.2 for how to download and
install an Oriya font, (b) Sec. 4 for how to set your default
locale to an Oriya one, (c) Sec. 6 for how to enter and
view Oriya characters under Linux, and, finally, (d)
Sec. 7 for how to translate program messages into
Oriya. While a Unicode terminal emulator is not strictly necessary,
Sec. 5.1 describes some such terminals available for Linux.
